The short version
Nudge is for counting down to good moments with people you like. Be kind, share only what you have the right to share, and don't use Nudge to hurt anyone. Break the rules and we can permanently ban you from Nudge.
Your agreement
By downloading or using Nudge you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs your license to the app. If you do not agree, please do not use Nudge.
Who can use Nudge
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Nudge.
Your content and shared countdowns
- What you post in a shared countdown (titles, notes, photos, nudges, replies, reactions, photo pings and surprises) is visible to every member of that countdown, and any member can edit its details and photos. Post only what you're comfortable sharing with them, and only content you have the right to share.
- You keep ownership of your content. You give us (and Apple's iCloud, where it is stored) only the permission needed to store it, show it to the members you share it with, and review it if it is reported.
- Deleting a shared countdown you created ends it for everyone: it is removed from Nudge's shared database with its nudges, replies, photos and surprises, and members' apps remove it from their devices and iCloud when they next sync. Deleting a countdown you joined only takes you out of it; what you posted there stays visible to the remaining members. Single nudges, replies and surprises can't be deleted one by one in the app. The exception is a self-deleting secret countdown, an option when you create a countdown inside the secret space: there, nudges, replies, reactions and photo pings are deleted an hour after they are sent, on every device running Nudge 1.1 or later, and the countdown itself is deleted a day after its date. Photos added to it are not on that clock. A report filed before a message expires keeps a copy of it for review.
Community rules: zero tolerance for abuse
There is no place in Nudge for objectionable content or abusive behavior. In particular, you must not post or share content that:
- harasses, threatens, or degrades another person;
- is sexually explicit, hateful, or violent;
- is illegal, or infringes someone else's rights;
- impersonates another person, or spams.
Nudge gives you tools to protect yourself. To report someone, tap their avatar (in a countdown's members row, on one of their nudges or replies, or among your Nudge Mates) to open their profile, then tap Report at the bottom, choose a reason and add details if you like. You can also email us at the address below. Reports are reviewed promptly.
On the same profile you can block them. Blocking hides their nudges, replies, reactions, photo pings and invites from you and removes them from your Nudge Mates, and they are not notified. Blocking has two limits: surprises they add to a countdown's reveal wall stay visible, and a notification they trigger can still appear on your device, for example while Nudge is in the background. To stop seeing a countdown you share with them, leave it, or remove them from it if you created it. You can unblock someone in Settings › Privacy & Safety › Blocked users.
When we find that someone has posted objectionable content or abused other users, we can permanently ban their account from Nudge.
Termination
You can stop using Nudge at any time. "Erase all data" (Settings › Danger zone) deletes your countdowns, ends the shared countdowns you created, takes you out of the ones you joined and resets your profile. It does not remove everything: see Retention and deletion in the Privacy Policy, and email the address below to delete what remains in Nudge's shared database. We may suspend or permanently end access for accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice, to protect other users.
What we're not responsible for
Nudge is provided "as is", free of charge. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost data caused by circumstances outside our control (including iCloud availability), or content posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we will update this page and the effective date above. Continuing to use Nudge after a change means you accept the updated terms.
